Java coffee beans come from the moist volcanic slopes of the Ijen plateau, which give the coffee its incredible sweetness. A choice quality coffee due to the mild microclimate typical of the island and the specific soil type. Legend has it that many centuries ago, in Saudi Arabia, an Indian called Baba Buda secretly stole seven coffee beans and began growing coffee in his country. He then gave some coffee beans to the Dutch, who started growing coffee in Java in 1696.
